Welcome to the Omaha Public Schools Foundation website presenting our award winning programs and success stories. Founded in 1984 by the Omaha Board of Education, the Omaha Schools Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization, governed by a Board of Directors (all residents of the Omaha School District), and incorporated under Nebraska Law as a nonprofit corporation. At the most basic level, the Omaha Public Schools Foundation exists to raise funds for projects and programs which cannot be funded by tax dollars.
We are excited to share our enthusiasm for the Omaha Public Schools amazing students, administrators, teachers and curriculums and encourage you to participate in supporting the many programs and scholarships which facilitate the success of our students.
The Greatest Healing Therapy is Friendship and Love of Family and Friends
Contributed by Mike DeBolt, September 20, 2017-Helping brain aneurysm patients, survivors, and families is a rewarding experience that brings you closer to people who have a tremendous amount of courage, strength, and hope. Harvey Relief Fund to Assist the HISD Foundation
Update: September 18, 2017
Congratulations, OPS Community! We've reached our goal of $5000.00! And guess who put us over the top? Indian Hills Elementary collected $500.00 for the relief fund. A big shout out to Robert Holzapfel, his administrative staff and the students and teachers of Indian Hills for "Creating Possibilities!"
We've set a new goal of $7500.00, so pass the word and let others know that Omaha Public Schools rise to the challenge. We will keep the fund open until September 30th, so it's not too late to participate. HISD is really relying on all of us to help them and their children. Keep up the great work, Omaha Public Schools, Omaha Public Schools Foundation and the Omaha Education Association. Read more to make your donation today.
JROTC to Participate in D-Day Celebration
The National D-day 75 Years Committee has selected our area JROTC programs to participate in the 2019 D-Day Memorial Parade. Forty (40) Heartland cadets and select instructors were chosen to represent the State of Nebraska and Iowa and will have the opportunity to tour historic battlefields and experience history firsthand. In order to take part in this educational opportunity, the cadets need to raise $3,400 each to cover transportation, meals, lodging and tour fees.

2016-2017 Scholarship Awards
One of the Omaha Schools Foundation's most gratifying experience is honoring The Future Educators and Super 13 Scholars each year. At a reception held before the OSF Board meeting, scholars were given an opportunity to share their plans for furthering their education. It was great fun hearing where they were going to go to school and what they will be studying.
