Purpose:

To provide financial assistance to a graduating Omaha Public Schools student in memory of OPS graduate Antwaun Rollerson who was an avid volunteer in the community working to better the lives of children. This scholarship specifically supports the purchase of books for college.

Eligible School:

All OPS High Schools

Selection Criteria:

  1. Student must be graduating with a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need;
  2. Student must demonstrate leadership qualities, be a self-motivator, and show they have participated in community service activities by submitting a minimum one-page essay on why they are applying for the scholarship;
  3. Student must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or school administrator;
  4. Student must show commitment to post-secondary education at an accredited four-year Nebraska college/university.

Selection Process:

Recipient will be chosen by the Antwaun Rollerson Foundation Board of Directors.

Amount: 

$250/semester for two semesters payable to an accredited four-year Nebraska college or university upon the Omaha Schools Foundation’s receipt of verification of enrollment from the institution chosen by the recipient. The second disbursement will be made upon receipt of the student’s class schedule and transcript to verify a 3.0 GPA.
